First of UChicagoX’s three-course Quantum Computer Systems Design professional certificate on edX. The course page describes working with IBM Qiskit to write simple programs and run them on cloud hardware. Topics listed include systems research in quantum computing, the Bloch sphere, Feynman path sums, sequential and parallel gates, EPR pairs, no-cloning, and teleportation.

Prerequisites named on the page are the two Quantum Computing for Everyone courses. The required textbook is Ding and Chong, Quantum Computer Systems. Four weeks at 8 to 12 hours is a heavier load than the Everyone intro. Audit is free.

This fills a gap: a systems-oriented university course, not another algorithms MOOC. Parts II and III (architecture, noisy systems) exist on edX if you continue.

Who it is for

Learners who already have a beginner course and want to think about quantum computers as systems, using Qiskit as the programming layer.
